Recently, Atlus dropped a new patch for Persona 4 Golden on PC, with several fixes for a ton of bugs.

Patch 1.1 will include all the gameplay and stability fixes introduced to the game by former hotfixes, which attends to several issues like crashes happening in specific scenarios, soft locking bugs, and cut-scene playback. This particular one can be very annoying.

So without further ado, here are the patch notes:

• Fixes to video quizzes
• Fixes to cut-scene playback, including a lower playback mode for smoother play on older machines.
• Soft locks occurring around Personamations
• Random crashes reported
• Crashes related to removing Xbox One controllers
• A hang issue that occurs during Midnight Trivia Quiz
• Blank items in inventory, causing crashes and freezes.
• Please note that if you are experiencing this issue, your old saves will retain the blank item, so it is suggested that you generate new saves and avoid old saves with empty items.

Again, the Persona 4 Golden 1.1 patch also enhances cut-scenes movies for optimized playback and fixes a bug where Windows 10 resolution was in-use.

• An audio issue related to the audio setting during Yosuke’s Cavalry Attack.
• A progression issue that occurs when entering Yukiko’s castle.
• Addresses a known issue where some players could not complete quest 3.
• Optimized cut-scene movies for better playback that was causing stuttering.
• When using high-resolution monitors, resolved an issue where the Windows 10 resolution scaling was being applied.
• Fixed a freeze issue when equipping a blank item in “Equip > Clothes.”
• If you have a blank item in the Clothes menu, please remove it as these empty items can still be in your currently saved game data. Equipping blank items can trigger various freeze issues in other locations.
• Resolved a soft lock that could occur after an All-Out-Attack.

Interestingly, Persona 4 Golden marks the launch of the popular series by Atlus on PC. However, the Steam edition comes with several improvements over the original PS Vita launch, like unlocked frame rate, improved character models, and more!

You can find Persona 4 Golden now on Steam. The game is also on PlayStation Vita.

For those who haven’t seen or played the game. Here’s a summary of Persona 4 Golden’s gameplay:

To me, it’s a bare-bones refit, but still a thoughtful and captivating JRPG, a combination of stylish demon stealth attacking and slice-of-life drama. For a thorough expose on Persona 4 & 5, you can check out Chris Miller’s publication on the game.
