D3Publisher has announced the North American and European release of Onee Chanbara Origin. The game is a fast-paced hack-and-slash zombie slasher that predominately stars anime-style female protagonists. \n \nOnee Chanbara Origin is a complete HD remake of the original The Onechanbara and The Onechanbara 2 games. These two games were originally launched on PlayStation 2 in 2004 and 2005. The new game has a new graphic style and optimized storytelling. The main character designs were also resigned by Onechanbara's series designer Katsume Enami. \n \nThe upcoming title developed by Tamsoft is a new interpretation of the story. AYa was raised by her father to become a master swordswoman. Her younger sister Saki, was raised by her mother. She despised her father for abandoning them and taking Aya away from them. When their father, Oboro, goes missing, Aya decides to look for him. \n \nSaki is working to avenge her mother and becomes consumed with grief to the point where she lashes out. She uses the undead to fulfill her goals, which turns her sister Aya into her enemy. Saki learns that if she wants to obtain her goal of revenge, she'll have to kill her sister. As the game progresses, Aya and Saki learn that although they hate each other, they may have an even greater enemy. \n \n \n \nThe gameplay consists of chopping through hordes of zombies in real-time swordplay. Players complete various objectives and tasks. While players fight, the characters' swords become progressively covered in zombie gore. \n \nIf players collect enough energy, they transform into demons for short bursts of added power. Each character has a unique set of abilities, giving players plenty of reasons to keep replaying the game. \n \nOnee Chanbara Origin will contain full English dubs or retain the Japanese language option with English subtitles. \n \nThe game is available to wishlist now on Steam. On the official game website, there will be two versions of the game: Standard and Deluxe Edition. The details of each edition are not yet known. The PlayStation 4 version will have an additional Season Pass, so DLC is expected. \n \nThe official website has additional information about the main characters, along with some gameplay videos. The combo attacks are in progress of being uploaded to the site. \n \nOnee Chanbara Origin launches on PC via Steam and PlayStation 4 on October 14, just in time for Halloween.
