Last week, the cover stars for WWE 2K20 were revealed, as former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and current Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will both be featured on the game’s cover. But, while 2K did reveal their two cover stars, they didn’t mention anything about one of their most requested modes: GM Mode.

One mode that fans have been wanting is GM Mode, which hasn’t been featured in a WWE game since SmackDown vs. Raw 2008, which allowed fans to take control of Raw, SmackDown, or ECW.

Since then, the game mode has been replaced with the far less popular Universe Mode, where players take control of the entire company. There’s no point in the mode other than to just book and play through matches and progress through the calendar year. But, there’s no competitive element, which is why fans have been clamoring for the return of GM Mode.

Well, if you’re one of the many who have been asking for the return of GM Mode over the years, then WWE star Xavier Woods might have some good news for you in a few months.

“To those of you asking about GM Mode – gimmie 2/3 months and I’ll be able to hopefully give you some good news,” said Woods on his official Twitter account.

While this doesn’t confirm that the mode will be in WWE 2K20, it’s a strong hint that it’ll be confirmed by the devs down the line. And if it isn’t, then, well, a lot of fans will be pretty disappointed, especially when they consider the fact that it was teased ahead of time by one of WWE’s most popular superstars.

If you’re unfamiliar with the GM Mode, essentially you take control of Raw or SmackDown, and you compete with the opposite show throughout the year. At the end of the year, the show with the most fans will win, and the opposing GM will be fired.

On top of that, it’s not just a one-year mode. Or, at least it wasn’t back during its glory days. If you’re able to keep beating the competition, you’ll be allowed to continue beyond the first year. Also, in the original GM Mode, the winner is given the choice to steal three superstars from the opposing brand, with its champions being the only exemptions.

WWE 2K20 is currently scheduled to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 22.
