When Naughty Dog decided to reveal The Last of Us Part II at Sony's PlayStation Experience event back in December of 2016, most believed that we'd have a release date for the game at this point. But, while there are a few rumors out there that have suggested different released dates for TLOU 2, as of right now, nothing has been confirmed. \n \nBut, according to Troy Baker, who is the voice actor for Joel, it's probably a good thing that the release date for The Last of Us Part II hasn't been revealed yet, simply because, in his mind, the fans aren't ready for it. \n \nWhile speaking at the Manchester Comic-Con event, Baker talked about all of the trailers for The Last of Us Part II and concluded his statement by saying that "you're not ready" for the sequel. \n“There is nothing about this game, nor the reveals, that hasn’t been 100-percent carefully crafted and methodically curated. All I can tell you is that as much as you’re clamoring for it, you’re not ready.” \nSony decided to not take part in this past June's E3 event, so we were unable to learn more regarding the publisher's upcoming exclusive content. However, it's been rumored that they're going to hold a keynote conference at the upcoming Gamescom event, which takes place at the end of this month, so we could learn more about The Last of Us Part II there. \n \nhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=btmN-bWwv0A \n \nIt's also been rumored that Sony is going to hold a conference in the fall, where they'll presumably announce and officially reveal the PlayStation 5. On top of that, they could finally reveal the release date for The Last of Us Part II, which is, by far, the most anticipated upcoming Sony exclusive. \n \nAs previously mentioned, there have been a few rumors out there regarding the release date for the game, one of which is suggesting that it'll release in February of next year, while another is saying that it'll be released in May of next year. Both rumors began via anonymous posters on 4Chan, one of which claims to be someone who has a trusted source within Naughty Dog. \n \nIt's likely that, if The Last of Us Part II is going to be released in the first half of next year, Naughty Dog will reveal the release date at some point before the end of this year. If they don't, then that could be a big sign that the game won't be coming out until late-2020 at the earliest.
