Detroit: Become Human was the top of many news sites before its release last year in May. It started as a PlayStation 4 exclusive but later revealed that it would be coming to PC sometime in 2019. The developers were happy to announce that the game has since then sold over 3 million units across the world.

Although this number is nowhere near the amount of Marvel’s Spider-Man and God of War sold, it is still quite a large step for the company. Quantic Dream hopes that in the future, they will move away from platform exclusivity. Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls is already available on PC.

The game is an adventure game played from the third-person perspective. Similar to Mass Effect, the game lets you make decisions that will change the end result of the game. Making it even more interesting, there are multiple player characters who can die without ever finding a game over message.

The playable characters are Connor, Kara, and Markus. Connor is a police investigator android who is tasked with hunting down androids that have deviated from their programmed behaviors. Kara is a housekeeper who develops consciousness and is responsible for a young girl after in the game. Markus is a caretaker who takes it upon himself to free other androids from their programming.

Each character gives the player a different view of the world around them. Each decision will impact the character, and as you progress through the game, you quickly start ton release the depth available. There is tons to read, lots of lore to learn, and many options to explore through the game.

The game was originally met with generally favorable reviews from critics. The setting, graphics, and small moments in the story really showed through creating a game that was visually above many others. The motion controls were a mess, but the main story and the impact of every decision outweighed that aspect for many fans.

There is still some discussion as to a sequel for the game. The writer and director has stated that he would work on a sequel if he had ideas, passion, and excitement to do it. He has spoken similar thoughts about the possibility of a DLC, as there are so many other characters that having a DLC would not be difficult.

The game is already available on PlayStation 4, and as we get closer to the end of the year, fans get more excited for the eventual PC release.
