Koei Tecmo has released new information for their upcoming title Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV. The game is based on the story of the same name where three kingdoms, Wei, Wu, and Shu try to rule China. \n \nThe new title covers the gameplay, new officers, a new Developer Diary, and "Creator's File." This is the last major news update before the end of the year. \n \n \n \nThe new title offers seven scenarios from the Romance of the Three Kingdom series. The official website states: "There are a total of seven scenarios, including the Yellow Turban Rebellion (February 184), the chaotic war that signaled the opening of the times, and Chu Shi Biao (February 227), the beginning of Zhuge Liang's northern campaign. Players will be immersed in the game in these events that weave through the Three Kingdoms story. " \n \nAs for gameplay, the new "Search" feature will allow players to find free officers who can be recruited into armies. If no free officers are found, then the person searching may find gold. Officers with exceptional skills can reduce the time it takes to search for any retainers. \n \nRulers will have access to the "Royal Rank and Civil Service." This will allow them to expand their force and pay their offers better. This feature is essential to the morale of troops and officers. \n \n"Campaigns" and "Duels" have also been featured in the news update. The "Campaign" command will have units from multiple regions that target one specific enemy area. During battles, offers can fight one-on-one in "Duels." Traits will play a large role here in who will encounter more "Duels" than others. \n \nThe game will also offer "New Officer Creation." Players can create characters not already in the game but mentioned in the original story, or brand-new characters. The characters are highly customizable from their appearance, policies, tactics, and more. \n \nThe newest developer diary video, Episode 2, is from Producer Kazuhiro Echigoya, who goes over more details of the upcoming game. The new creator file features illustrator Keiji Hida, who previously created the cover art for Nobunaga's Ambition. \n \nThe newly introduced characters include Xu Huang and Yue Jin of Wei, Zhou Tai, and Zhuge Ke of Wu, plus Huang Zhong and Wei Yan of Shu. The newest title has the most officer of any game in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series. \n \nThe next major news update is scheduled for January 2020. \n \nRomance of the Three Kingdoms XIV is scheduled to be released on February 28, 2020, for the PC and PlayStation 4.
