Publisher and developer Skymap Games has announced the release of the meaty combat platformer Bacon Man onto the Nintendo Switch. The game was previously released on PC via Steam in March 2018. Since its launch, the game has received a Positive average from 15 reviews.

In Bacon Man, the Old King Roast Beef was murdered. His grandson, Bacon Man, was framed for the murder by the evil Food Kings. Now Bacon Man has to fight through the food groups and find the ones who framed him for the crime. Players have to clear Bacon Man’s name and eliminate those who landed him in jail.

Although the game is called Bacon Man, there are four unique characters to choose from. Players who co-op can choose a friendly experience or turn off friendly fire. All of the playable characters have unique skills and abilities. After their abilities are unlocked, additional classy costumes are available.

The Nintendo Switch release will game some additional content not seen in the PC release. There are three additional difficulty levels to complete. The experience was also enhanced for the console with a two-player couch co-op option. Players can complete the game completely alone or fight through all 25 levels with a friend.

The gameplay is challenging with a variety of ways to complete each level. Characters can fly through the air or run on-foot using the “Bacon Control System.” The PC release required a controller to play, but Nintendo Switch players can enjoy using the Joy-Cons.

Enemies are a big part of Bacon Man. There are a variety of food-themed enemies. Players have to master the realms of Nomround by fighting to the top of the food pyramid. Throughout the game, characters will collect experience points and level up to unlock new abilities and customize their loadout. Players can customize their abilities to match their playstyle.

The full orchestral soundtrack was provided by Braxton Burks of Pokémon Reorchestrated and Kyle Landry, known for his music on from YouTube and Twitch.

Neal Laurenza, Managing Director at Skymap Games, commented on the Nintendo Switch release:

The Skymap Games team is ecstatic to bring Bacon Man to the Nintendo Switch. We consider this the definitive edition; we’ve added new levels with even bigger challenges, and we’ve optimized gameplay for a tight platforming experience on-the-go.

The Digital Deluxe version on Steam contains additional bonus content such as the original soundtrack, PDF art book, and a desktop wallpaper pack. It’s unknown if Nintendo Switch owners will gain access to the same content.

Bacon Man will launch on the Nintendo Switch in September, but the exact release date is unknown. The game is available now on PC via Steam.
