One of the more anticipated games of 2020 is Predator: Hunting Grounds, the asymmetric online shooter from IllFonic. Its premise is very promising. A group of players will team up as soldiers and go head to head with a Predator. It’s the ultimate battle between hunter and survivor, where only one side can come out on top.

Already, Predator: Hunting Grounds is showing a lot of promise. Its release is just a couple of weeks away, but before its full version is opened up to the public, the game is getting a free trial this weekend. It will be available on the PC and PS4. So if you want to take this online shooter out for a spin to see what’s in store, this weekend is your chance.

If you’re not familiar with this game, each match starts out with a team of soldiers venturing off in some remote location. They are tasked with various missions, whether it’s taking down a drug lord or stopping a terrorist group. All the while, a watchful Predator will be lurking in the distance and waiting to time their ambush just perfectly.

It’s exactly like the Predator movie staring Arnold Schwarzenegger, where he and his team were pitted against an elite alien hunter. Hopefully your team’s experience with this Yautja goes better than Arnold’s crew.

There is a wide variety of class options for both sides. For the Predator, each class comes with a particular set of skills. For example, there’s a Scout predator who has advanced resources to analyze his opponents. Or the Berserker, who’s extremely powerful and highly skilled at hand-to-hand combat.

For the soldiers, there are different classes as well. Whatever style you plan on using in this game of cat and mouse, you’ll be sure to find something that suits your preferences.

So far, the gameplay for this asymmetrical shooter is showing a ton of potential as well. Both sides seem equally matched, whether you’re a predator using advanced throwing disks or a solder blasting down trees with a Gatling gun. The combat options seem limitless.

This feels like one of the best Predator games to date. Finally, players will get to experience the true power of a Yautja. And those who end up on the human side will get to put their survival skills to the test. This weekend is your time to see what potential Predator: Hunting Grounds has. Find out if you have what it takes to reign supreme in a survival of the fittest deathmatch.
