The Warriors Orochi series is a unique spin-off game from the Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors franchises. The series features all of the characters from Koei Tecmo's series games, excluding some titles using licensed characters like Hyrule Warriors and Attack of Titan. To make up for these missing characters, the developers often create brand new characters to add to the roster. \n \nWarriors Orochi 4 was previously released in 2018 but is soon expanding into an "Ultimate" edition. The plot continues off from the previous game, with the characters having forgotten their time-traveling adventures. \n \nIn the current edition, Zeus, king of Olympus, brings the heroes back together to pursue his son, Perseus, who has stolen all eight of his Ouroboros bracelets. The heroes are then divided according to who wields one of the bracelets. While they work against each other at first, they quickly learn their fight is not with each other but against a more significant threat. \n \nYang Jian is the newest character to join the growing cast of heroes striving to collect the Ouroboros bracelets. \n \nKoei Tecmo has featured him on the Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate website: "Yang Jian is always calm and collected, and possesses great intuition. He fights with his tri-point double-edged glaive and his divine canine companion known as Xiaotian. He is thought to be a genius obsessed with perfection, but in truth, he is simply extremely hardworking. Yang Jian is an original character of Warriors Orochi." \n \n \n \nYang Jian brings the roster to 176, which is one of the largest in Warriors Orochi's history. Players will have plenty of characters to choose from on their quest. \n \nAdditional new characters to WO4 Ultimate include Mother Earth Goddess of Olympus Gaia, God of the Underworld Hades, Joan of Arc of Bladestorm, Ryu Hayabusa of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, and the Greek warrior Achilles. \n \nThe upgrade will also feature a new storyline and sub-scenarios, Infinity game mode, and a promotion system to upgrade heroes further. Playability and UI also see a significant improvement to make gameplay easier. \n \nOwners of the original Warriors Orochi 4 can purchase the digital-only upgrade alone. There will be a standalone version available in both physical and digital form. \n \nWarriors Orochi 4 Ultimate will be released in Japan on December 19th on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. North America and Europe can experience the ultimate version of the game on February 14th, 2020.
