With Pokemon Sword and Shield released now on Nintendo Switch, that has signaled the beginning of the eighth generations in the Pokemon series, which very much follows after the previous Pokemon titles. However, recently, they did come up with a slew of new features and tools to the mix.

Among the new features comes the new in-game money, Watts. As the game is explored, notably the Wild Area, there would be Max Raid dens loitered around, and the interaction with these earns a certain amount of Watts. With that said, what is the purpose of the Watts?

What is The Purpose of the Watts?
Watts is essentially an alternate in-game currency in Pokemon Sword and Shield. As stated earlier, the way to earn is from the Max Raid dens. Usually, if a den is glowing without currently hosting any Max Raid Battle, players can earn 50 Watts just by interacting with it. However, if a Max Raid battle happens, then players receive 300 Watts before joining in the contest. Also, players have the option of earning either via catching crazy Pokemon that glows or just battling.

One question that enters the mind is, what can players spend the currency on? Well, Watts helps in exchange for services and items from specific NPCs in the Wild Area’s terrain. For instance, the Digging Duo near the Pokemon nursery in Bridge Field helps in excavating pieces for 500 Watts, and these digging creatures can also dig up evolutionary stones and rare items.

Different things make Watts useful. It comes handy when upgrading a bike (makes it runs faster), purchasing specialized records from several Watts Traders hanging around the Wild Area. Their League clothes can identify these characters, so they’d be relatively easy to spot while on the field.

Below is the round-up list of the different characters in Pokemon Sword and Shield that accepts Watts for the services they provide. Also, it is easy to find their location and what they sell.
