The US has finally gotten early access to Minecraft Earth, and it’s available now on iOS and Android. Its been a long time coming as the US is the tenth country to get early access.

Currently, Minecraft Earth Early Access is available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Philippines, Sweden, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and Iceland.

As the weeks roll on, more and more countries will be getting early access to the game.

Demos of the game are heading to Microsoft stores throughout the US and Canada as well. They will also be popping up in stores around Sydney and London.

The Early Access version isn’t the full game, but it shows enough to get Minecraft players excited about the full version.

What is Minecraft Earth?

Think Pokémon Go, but Minecraft. It is an augmented-reality game, where through the screen of the phone, the world becomes an endless playground for Minecraft fans.

The game will feature a lot of the same mechanics as the original Minecraft. The phone becomes a pickaxe, and gamers will be able to build creations with friends and place them in the real world. Furthermore, Minecraft Earth will feature many of the beloved mobs from the original, as well as the opportunity to breed unique
ones.

Collect blocks, mobs, and a variety of items from Tappables. Then the gamer will use what they collected to build whatever they want on top of a Buildplate.
Minecraft Earth will not have loot boxes, but that’s where Tappables come in. Tappables are found in special places throughout Minecraft Earth, where players need to continuously tap a crate to spew out items, which go straight into the gamer’s inventory.

Minecraft Earth will feature Rubies, which is the virtual currency of the game. Rubies can be collected in Tappables or purchased through the marketplace. Rubies can be used to buy things in the marketplace, such as Buildplates.

Minecraft Earth is free to play; however, mobile devices need to be running iOS 10 or Android 8 or newer. Players will also need a free Microsoft Account or an Xbox Live account. If gamers don’t have a Gold account for Xbox Live, no worries, a Gold account is not needed to play Minecraft Earth.

The game allows friends to play together via a QR code that everyone syncs to.

There are also Adventures in Minecraft Earth. This is the survival part of the game. When playing, the gamer will notice an Adventure on their map, and can click it to enter. The contents of the Adventure are randomized, so the player will never know what to expect. This is like old school Minecraft; the player will dig, chop down trees, and gather resources while avoiding enemies and seeking out valuable ore and other hidden treasures.

Once the full game comes out, Minecraft Earth will most definitely be a huge success. Minecraft has been one of the most popular games in the world since its launch, and by allowing players to get a fresh experience along with having the game at their fingertips wherever they go, Minecraft Earth is bound to be a success story.
