Publisher XSEED Games and Marvelous with developer Bullets are preparing for the PC launch of Uppers. The game is an action brawler with multiple fighters, including Daidoji-senpai from the publisher’s other franchise Senran Kagura.

The game was previously announced for a PlayStation 4 launch, but unfortunately, it was canceled. The publisher has not announced a reason why the cancelation took place but has begun announcing the game as a Steam-exclusive title.

Uppers is a beat-em-up brawler that follows the story of Last Resort Island. The only form of entertainment that the fighters have is fighting. Those who excel in fighting can become rich off their skills alone. Two young men, Ranma and Michiru, are striving to become the best fighters on the island, but they’re not the only ones with that goal.

The game also features 13 other fighters to choose from, each with a variety of specialties, including kickboxing, martial arts, and wrestling. Players will have to learn how to utilize each fighter’s moves best. There are many combos to learn, a “Voltage! Rise Up” system, plus hundreds of attacks.

These attacks aren’t just fun to complete but can impress those watching the brawlers in action. Fans in the audience will express their love in different ways, with some being more humorous than others.

Players will follow the fighters’ adventures across seven total chapters, which take place in different locations. Each location has additional items that can be used as weapons like maintenance hole covers, throwing bikes or motorcycles or even uppercutting opponents into a passing-by helicopter.

After players master one difficulty level, there are many more difficult ones to choose from.

Uppers was first launched on the PlayStation Vita in July 2016, but only in Japan. The title will soon launch on PC in English but not on a console. The PC release will have multiple improvements over the 2016 version.

The PC release is fully remastered in 1080p, 60FPS with native support for higher resolutions, plus full-text localization in English, French, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese & Simplified Chinese.

The PC version is single-player, but the Steam version has a few other additions like achievements, trading cards, partial controller support, and cloud saves.

Uppers launches on PC via Steam on October 21.
