Earlier this week, Far Cry 6 was leaked via Hong Kong’s PlayStation Store, thus spoiling the reveal, which is scheduled to happen at this Sunday’s Ubisoft Forward event. Along with the leak came a ton of details regarding the game, including its location, main character, villain, and weapons.

Before we get into the details, it’s worth noting that, following the leak, Ubisoft acknowledged it, while confirming that we’ll get our first look at the game during Sunday’s event.

Below are some of the game’s details, all of which come courtesy of the Hong Kong PlayStation Store leak.

  • Fight For Freedom: Play as the main character Danny Rojas, a local guerrilla fighter, to help liberate the nation.
  • Yara Torn Apart: Fight against Anton’s (lead villain) troops in the largest Far Cry playground to date. The game’s main location will feature jungles, beaches, and Esperanza, the capital city of Yara.
  • Guerrilla Firepower: Employ makeshift weapons, vehicles, and Amigos, the new Fangs for Hire to burn the tyrannical regime to the ground.

There’s also a rumor going around which suggests that Vaas, one of the main villains in Far Cry 3, will return in the series’ sixth main installment, but as a child, with some believing that the upcoming open-world first-person shooter will be a prequel to the third game.

Even though Ubisoft hasn’t said anything regarding this game being a prequel, there are two signs that it could be, one of which is shown in the game’s cover art. If you didn’t notice, the boy standing in front of Giancarlo Esposito has a scar over his right eye, just like Vaas. You can check out the image comparing the two below.

The second possible clue comes via a Reddit AMA, as Michael Mando, who played Vaas in Far Cry 3, told fans that he could reprise the role sometime soon.

“Vaas is my spirit animal – having co-created that character is something that will always be dear to me. I still get recognized as Vaas, and I still feel the outpouring of love for that character – makes me very happy. Who knows, maybe I will reprise the role very soon?”

Vaas was killed off halfway through Far Cry 3, but many still regard him as the best villain in the series. Of course, with Far Cry 6 possibly being a prequel, we’ll see a much different version of the beloved character if the role does get reprised.

Even though the release date hasn’t been confirmed by Ubisoft, the PlayStation Store listing says that Far Cry 6 will launch on February 18.
