The Sims team has released a new patch in preparation for the upcoming Stuff Pack launching this week. The developer often updates The Sims games with a major patch before new content comes out. These patches resolve any lingering issues that may conflict with the new content or make small additions.

The upcoming Stuff Pack was voted by the community. The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting adds the knitting activity into the game, a hobby that Sims of almost any age can enjoy. The pack itself focuses on DIY projects and adds several new clothing and accessory items.

Before diving into the new Stuff Pack, players will have to update their game first. The official The Sims Community forums outline what was resolved in the patch and what new additions were made for base game owners.

The update is PC: 1.65.70.1020 / Mac: 1.65.70.1220 and Console: Version 1.29. The patch is available for both PC and console owners and should automatically update as soon as players turn on their platform of choice.

The base game patch resolved some issues within Create-a-Sim, plus some error codes that began occurring around the release of the Eco Living EP. The patch to resolve the issue of Sims reliving themselves, onto to find their toilets on fire, was also resolved.

Two small additions were added for owners of the base game. Players can now name their cowplants since they are considered family members for many. The second addition is a smaller version of the Super Subtle Saucer Light, which many builders requested. The light is only 50 Simoleons, making it a cheap addition for smaller builds.

There are additional patches for other expansion packs. For Seasons EP owners, Summer Strut and Winter Holiday Radio Stations will now award related Moodlets. A similar addition was made for Spa Day Game Pack owners who listen to the New Age radio station.

Players who use mods on PC and Mac should remember that their custom content will be disabled during the patching process. Once the game starts up, players will receive a reminder prompt. They will then have to re-enable mods, then restart the game.
