What if you got stuck in a nightmare, forced to face your fears and conquer dark threats of epic proportions? That’s pretty much the concept of DARQ, a psychological horror with stealth and puzzle elements.

It has a lot of great surreal elements that make you feel like you’re in a Tim Burton movie, only you get to control Lloyd in his quest of conquering this nightmare and getting back to a world he knows and loves dearly.
Now, DARQ: Complete Edition is available on all major platforms, including PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. With it comes two DLC packs: The Tower and The Crypt.
The latter DLC is new and according to the developer’s notes, is twice as long as the first DLC and includes a bevvy of new puzzles and threats that Lloyd will have to figure out to end this nightmare once and for all.
The first DLC was great, but it looks like the developer is doubling down in the content department to keep returning fans still excited about this puzzle/stealth-based game.
That’s a lot of great content worth getting excited about in the Complete Edition. Even in just the base game, you have plenty to dive into.
When you first start playing, you’ll pick up on the creepy atmosphere that really immerses you in the foreboding dream landscape that you can’t wake up from. It’s exactly what you would expect a nightmare to be and that goes a long way in adding suspense as you move throughout different areas.
Unable to wake, panic sets in as threats start hunting you down. You have to act fast and think carefully about how you approach DARQ. Solving puzzles will require some thinking and getting past threats involves stealth.
You can’t just go up to opponents head on because of their superior power and strength. When you move and the things you do will dictate your success from start to finish.
Certain points can be challenging, but if you’re aware of your surroundings and use some sound judgement, you’ll start getting a feel for these dark lands that can change and throw new things at you.
Whether you have or haven’t experienced DARQ, the Complete Edition seems like a great bundle that continues the compelling story. Don’t be surprised to fall in love with its nightmarish world, challenging puzzles, and mind-bending physics. These elements really shine bright in a game that’s probably unlike anything you’ve played before.
