Bandai Namco has announced a new Kamen Rider game for Japan, but with a different format from previous games based on the series. Instead of musou-style action or a fighting game, the series will focus on three heroes on a former tourist island that has fallen into trouble.

Kamen Rider Memory Of Heroez will feature only three characters from the show: Kamen Rider Zero-One, whose show is currently airing, Kamen Rider W, and Kamen Rider OOO. Instead of using multiple Kamen Riders from the previous series, the developer wanted to focus more on a smaller set of heroes. The name of the game itself is intentionally misspelled (with “Heroes” misspelled as “Heroez”) to represent the three heroes appearing in the game.

Kamen Rider Memory Of Heroez focuses on both action and using various “gadgets” from the show. Players will get to choose from a Kamen Rider’s multiple forms in battle, with some forms being more effective against certain enemies. The more successful chain attacks players make, the higher the points they’ll score at the end of each level.

The “Gadget Action” focuses on some of the additional tools Kamen Riders have available. Kamen Rider W, a pair of detectives, uses a device called the “DenDen Sensor” to find hidden items and keywords. In the series, keywords are cues used to help solve various cases.

In Kamen Rider OOO, characters in the series use Candroids as support devices that can transform depending on what animal coins, which are similar to power-ups, are used.

Bandai Namco has announced the game is almost finished with development. Currently, the team is working on fine-tuning any details remaining before its launch in a few months. The developer plans on releasing more information regarding the game in the near future.

The physical and digital release of the game is only scheduled for Japan, which has been the norm for the series. However, since the Nintendo Switch is region free, players will be able to play the Nintendo Switch version. It’s unknown if the game will be available with English subtitles or other language options.

Bandai Namco is releasing two versions of the game. There will be a physical and digital version of the regular game, plus a special edition. The “Premium Sound Edition,” which is also a physical and digital release, contains the base game plus a soundtrack with songs from the series plus background music.
