Modus Games has announced the official release date for its upcoming giant robot brawler Override 2: Super Mech League. The game will launch on PC and consoles at the end of the year. A new 15-minute gameplay video followed the announcement.
Override 2: Super Mech League takes place seven years after the eradication of the Xenotypes that threatened Earth. The mechs that once acted as the planet’s defenders are now a source of entertainment.
Players take on the role of a new pilot of a repurposed super mech who must climb the ranks and represent their Club. The game offers a roster filled with around 20 playable old and new mechs, which each have a unique set of skills, abilities, and super-charged attacks.
The game is available in single-player and multiplayer campaign modes. Up to four players can play locally or online across the globe.
Override 2: Super Mech League contains multiple modes. They include 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, Free-for-All, plus mini-games like Xenoswarm, King of the Hill, and more. The gameplay has a new and improved combat system. The combat system is more accessible to perform speedy attacks, fluid movement, and other combos.
The Career Mode puts players in the pilot seat as a brand new pilot. They can earn reputation points by competing in arenas across the world. With their Club members, players can earn influence and additional rewards.
The levels include locations worldwide with environmental dangers. Players will have to survive against opponents, but also against geysers, lava pools, and more. Strategy is essential to survival.
In the garage, players can customize their mechs to make them stand out in battle. This includes several cosmetic items plus attachments for their favorite mech.
The game has also previously announced a special “Ultraman Deluxe Edition” that includes the Override 2: Super Mech League base game plus a season pass with Ultraman, plus three characters from the Netflix anime: Bemular, Dan Moroboshi, and Black King.
Those interested in the title can follow the developer on social media to learn more. The official website also has an email newsletter to learn more about the game, including events and other licensed collaborations.
Override 2: Super Mech League launches on December 22 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch.
