The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series is alive and well once again. After being dormant for years, the first two remastered games in the series are available now. These versions have better visuals, better mechanics, and new features. You can find this package on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

This skating franchise is so iconic and has lead to a lot of other great games in this space, including the Skate series, Session, and Skater XL. In terms of arcade skating, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series reigns supreme. Visuals from the trailers certainly have looked promising.

It’s amazing what a developer can do with new technology at their disposal. Even the way the lighting hits the different stages is impressive to see and qualifies this bundle as a remastered package.

Now that it’s out, some reviews have started surfacing. It seems to have a lot going for it right out of the gate. The soundtracks in both original games were perfect, but the developer added to them with new hits that vibe quite nicely with the others.

Again, the visuals are worth celebrating. A lot of times when remakes or remasters come out, you can’t really tell the difference. That’s certainly not the case here. Everything is better, from the textures to character models.

Even the gameplay has a more refined experience to it. At the heart, though, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is all about pulling off insane tricks and chaining together epic combos. The very moment you step on a board feels like you’re right at home.

Rather than putting too much of an emphasis on realistic simulation, this skating experience centers around arcade action. It couldn’t have come at a better time too now that Skater XL is available on all platforms.

Although both feature skateboarding, they have entirely different vibes. This latest Tony Hawk game is just so fun to play and you don’t have to be a gaming wizard to pull of incredible moves. That was the reason why this franchise soared to the charts back in the day.

Vicarious Visions has captured this fun nature beautifully in this remake and that’s worth celebration. Additionally, there are many more challenges in this version that give skaters hours of more content to look forward to.

If you’ve never had the chance to enjoy this series or want to re-live some epic skating moments with new and improved elements, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is worth checking out.
