Along with the announcement was the release of a playable demo through the Epic Games Store. The “Mother and Child” demo features the first boss fight that initially debuted at TSG 2018. Players can choose from the protagonists Mayday or Duke.

The developer also launched a mini-OST with various tracks from the game. Players can download and stream the songs from multiple digital music storefronts. The music was released first to introduce players into the world of No Straight Roads.

The game has many industry veterans working to bring the title to life. Dan Hazmer, the lead game designer of Final Fantasy XV is directing the title while Daim Dziauddin, concept artist of Street Fighter V, is working as Creative Director.

No Straight Roads features music to combat enemies in a vibrant world. The protagonists, Mayday and Duke, are part of an indie rock band. Together, they are working to take down the EDM empire known as No Straight Roads. At first, they wanted to work with the company until they were unfairly rejected. The team looked into No Straight Roads, which led to discovering the company’s evil intentions. Now, the pair have to work together to save Vinyl City with the power of rock.

The game has eight different levels to complete with a variety of music in each stage. Players use the beat of the music to attack, jump and move around freely to fight enemies. All of the major bosses are gigantic monsters with unique personalities to make the experience memorable.

Daim Dziauddin, creative director of No Straight Roads and co-founder of Metronomik, commented on the early release of the demo:

As a huge thank you to our loyal fans who have waited for No Straight Roads, we’ve made a playable demo available today which will give everyone an idea of what to expect with our beloved game. We can’t wait for players to experience the full game very soon.

Players can wishlist the game now ahead of its release in August.
