President and CEO of Natsume Inc. Hiro Maekawa recently posted a New Years’ message on the official website. The post spoke about the impact of COVID-19 in 2020 and hopes for 2021.
During the announcement, the President stated that the upcoming game Harvest Moon: One World will also launch on the Xbox One. Previously, the game was announced to only launch on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
While the release date for these platforms has already been announced, it doesn’t appear that the Xbox One version will launch on the same day. The President stated that the release date would be announced: “in the near future.” The current collector’s editions have also only been announced for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
According to the company, Harvest Moon: One World will be the biggest Harvest Moon game in history. Players will explore a more open world that contains multiple worlds.
Harvest Moon: One World is the latest farming sim in Natsume‘s Harvest Moon series, which retains the localized name of the Bokujo Monogatari franchise, but is slightly different.
Natsume stated they had previous success with its new Harvest Moon series for the company. Harvest Moon: Light of Hope: Special Edition was launched in 2018. The game has remained strong in both digital and physical sales and is currently the best-selling title in Natsume’s series.
Harvest Moon: One World is the fifth installment in Natsume’s series. Players travel through the beaches of Halo Halo and the mountains of Salmiakki. The game begins with farmers who don’t have access to certain crops. By traveling throughout the new locations, players can find new-to-them crops and animals.
The company previously revealed the romantic interests of the game, which has always been a part of the series. Players can choose one of multiple characters throughout the regions to marry and raise a family with.
Multiple Limited Editions have also been announced, along with the Standard physical or digital editions. The collector’s editions come with items such as the “Life on the Farm” soundtrack, pins, cloth posters, music boxes, and plush chickens. The items differ depending on where players purchase the games and by region.
Harvest Moon: One World launches on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on March 2. The release date for the Xbox One is not yet known.
