Splatfest might be over, the updates might be dwindling, and Pearl might be reigning as the Chaos Queen, but the party never stops in Splatoon 2! For those still aching to ink, jump, bomb, and blast, you’ll have your chance to do that and more, bigger and better.

Players of Splatoon 2 will be able to participate in the online-exclusive tournament, only if they love within North America. That means all 50 states, Canada (except Quebec), and Mexico (certain age restrictions apply). Players will need their own Nintendo Switches, their own copies of Splatoon 2, and a working Nintendo Switch Online account.
Registration goes from 8/15/19 to 8/24/19 at 9:00AM PT. The prize? An invitation to the Nintendo Live event in Kyoto, Japan on October 12th/13th, where even greater glory and prizes await.
Battles are sure to be crazy, with all registering teams needing to qualify in single-elimination Turf Wars, and Ranked Battles taking center stage afterwards.
Teams will also need sponsors to participate, so if you and your crew are interested in participating, if you haven’t got one already, now’s the time to start searching.
As the battles are online only, a lot of verification is also going to be required on the part of the teams. Screenshots and captures of game results, disputes, and disconnects will need to be provided to ensure certainly of wins and losses.
Stages are also chosen by way of the sponsors, and weapons/gear allowed are fairly lenient. Anything goes except the Splatfest Tee, for good reason; with its innate ability to double the potency of all other skills the player is wearing, ‘broken’ doesn’t even begin to describe what could occur during battle, especially with Splatoon 2 able to provide better agency for players who want specific abilities thanks to the chunks system introduced.
