An April 24 patch in Marvel Rivals is going to feel much fresher, with a new game mode coming, costume bundles, emotes, and numerous tweaks and bug fixes. The update will roll out at 9:00 AM UTC on that date, with no server downtime—update your client and get back in.
A hype tweet dropping hints about the patch said players will “think big and shoot big,” implying a significant content drop. While the official patch notes have full details (links in the tweet), any speculation will probably start due to new game mode mentions. Will it be a competitive ranked mode? Is it a frenzy of PvE? Or might it be something completely out of left field?
Zero server downtime is a nice touch—something rare for live-service games, and it happens to be rare in a good way. Normally, patches mean long waits for maintenance to finish, but players of Marvel Rivals just jump right in after an update. That should count for anyone who has ever sat there, blankly staring at a “servers offline” message in frustration.
Costume bundles and emotes are all signs of a really decent cosmetic update. It could be a big deal for players wanting to strut their stuff with their favorite characters mid-battle, considering how much players love customization in hero shooters. “Think big and shoot big” could even suggest some oversized mechanics for the new mode-environmental destruction, maybe? Or super-charged abilities?
Anyway, 24 April still seems an important day for Marvel Rivals. If the patch becomes good, it could provide a major breath of fresh air to keep the fights going. For now, it’d be nice if somebody in the replies would take a swing at theorizing what “think big” really means-we sure would want to know.
A date to mark on your calendar, wherein you can update the client and be prepared for all that the patch has to offer. And, yeah, if the new mode has even half the level of outrageousness that is being spoken about, we might finally see that wild comment section flooded with responses. Oh, and until then, this radio silence is just… sorta suspicious.
