Inspection shows the surprise has, all along, been well hidden for the Fortnite players who got TMNT Event Passes via Chapter 5 – Season 1: Krang’s Android has some serious deep dig ref and flauntable through his exclusive Back Bling-it is all that hardcore Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan would get.

Twitter user @fortdotone has made it famous as he pointed out that equipping the crang’s Back Bling-locked to the TMNT Event Pass-causes some “secret visual tweak.” No word from Epic on whether it is an intended feature or just one of those happy accidents, though. Given, however, Fortnite’s history of sneaky Easter eggs, we tend to lean toward very intentional.

For those who didn’t see the TMNT collaboration, Krang-the alien brain lord-cruises in a hulking android body-his high point skin. His Back Bling? This tiny version of his android shell, which when worn, seems to slightly tweak his gameplay model in a way that’s subtle yet chef’s kiss for TMNT lore nerds.

Now, for the kicker: It’s not just a simple texture swap. The change alludes to Krang’s original look from the ’80s cartoon, when an android version had really specific design tweaks compared to all the other later versions. The surrounding quiet allows the mind to wonder how many more secret interactions remain to be found within plain sight.

And no, don’t ask-this isn’t the first time “Fortnite” secretly stashed sneaky skin bonuses. Remember that whole helmet removal for the Mandalorian? Some Marvel skins reacting to specific emotes? Epic loves this stuff; players love it much.

If you happen to have that TMNT Event Passe and haven’t messed with the whole Krang rigged set up yet, then you might want to do so at this moment. Who knows what other little, beautiful secrets lie skyward?

By the way, it’s funny, given that it was never even mentioned in patch notes. So Epic clearly gets a kick out of watching the community go hoarse over the tiniest details. And honestly? So are we.

No reply to the original tweet yet; that is crazy-you would think TMNT fans would be losing their minds over this. Maybe everyone is too busy grinding that pass to check out Twitter, or maybe the secret is just too well hidden. Either way, this is your heads-up; off you go-flex that nerdy knowledge of the obscure TMNT lore in-game. Cowabunga, or whatever.
