DOOM: The Dark Ages is out, and the internet is set ablaze—literally. The official Halo account, among others, gave idSoftware and Bethesda its great love in a hype tweet saying, “Yo, congrats on the demon-slaying madness”. What about the responses? Sheer chaos.
The tweet has just that fire emoji and a shout out to DOOM, yet fans took off with that energy. Now the replies are half hype, half memes, half outright asks for a DOOM x Halo crossover. People are seriously not joking. Some guy @andrew1ups went with, “Do crossover event”, while @SubToJoeygaming just threw a 🗿 emoji and said, “Doom x Halo Crossover when?”
And honestly? That’d be a pretty sweet thing to do. Imagine Master Chief and Doomguy running together, blasting demons and Covenant on both ends. The level of violence would just break the whole internet. There are even jokes about the logistics from fans—like @MTS55MTS55 suggested: “Flood infect hell demons causing Warthog escape sequence with BFG mounted on rear”? Like, yes? Please?
But that hype does not go down well with a few salty Halo fans who come in to remind everyone that maybe 343 Industries should focus on a good Halo game first. @KKSN05 replied to another user, “I’d rather have an actually good Halo game,” which… ouch. Fair, but ouch.
Oh, and the art! Man! That fan art is on another level! @FacelessH00d debuted a killer poster concept while @Mr_Rebs_ is thirsting for more of that Mutilator shotgun art. This creativity should be hired by Bethesda and idSoftware right away.
But here’s the real kicker—the DOOM x Halo crossover was almost a real thing. @musadelui dropped the bombshell that Microsoft shot down the concept during the show’s development. Like, come ON, Microsoft. You’re sitting on a goldmine of chaos, and you just… said no?
Now, the only thing stopping this crossover is corporate red tape. The fans want it; the memes demand it; to top it all Off, the Halo Twitter account has been hyping DOOM! So what really is holding it back?
Meanwhile, DOOM: The Dark Ages is out and judging by the hype, it should be a blood-soaked good time. And maybe, just maybe, if we all make enough noise together, Microsoft shall relent and agree to the crossover. A Slayer can dream, does he not?
