We’re almost at the end of November and that means the release of Cyberpunk 2077 grows closer and closer by the day. It was originally going to release this month, but due to the developer’s vision of making it as flawless as it can be, they decided to push it back to December 10th.
It hasn’t been that bad of a wait thanks to CD Projekt Red‘s continued efforts to put out trailers showing what awaits fans. A new gameplay trailer is out now in fact that focuses on Night City and some of its history.
We’ve known for some time just how massive this open-ended futuristic landscape was going to be, featuring many different districts all decked out from top to bottom in detail. It’s honestly one of the more promising settings of a major AAA game.
The trailer — which you can check out above — sets the stage for the world that players will find themselves surrounded by. Nuclear conflict has changed the landscape of the world, now deemed the Dark Future. Night City has become the hub of many corporations’ desires to gain power.
Many others have flocked to Night City for a chance of a more civilized way of living, but as conflict rises between corporations and inner-city gangs, it’s only a matter of time before tensions rise and blood flows throughout the streets.
Everyone in Night City is trying to gain an upper hand, including corrupt politicians, gangs, cult leaders, and more. Those that don’t bow down suffer an unfortunate fate.
Needless to say, Night City is filled to the brim in criminal activity. Exploring its seemingly endless areas should make for some tension-filled encounters, whether it’s with rival gangs or sociopaths just looking to cause some destruction.
The latest trailer just shows how much thought CD Projekt Red put into designing this world that players will have the pleasuring of exploring come December 10th. It’s an exciting time for video games now that the PS5 and Xbox Series X are officially out. Cyberpunk 2077 should compliment both well out of the gate.
Let’s just hope the developer can in fact release this futuristic RPG here in a couple of weeks. It has been in development for quite a while, but it finally seems like the light at the end of the tunnel is becoming brighter and brighter. And to hold you over for a couple of more weeks, you can check out all of the Night City Wire events. They’re filled with interesting, promising nuggets.
