That’s also true for those excited about playing this installment on a next-gen console. Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X are set to release around holiday season. You can just feel the excitement building with every passing day.

Borderlands fans are in luck too because it was just announced that Borderlands 3’s next-gen edition will be available on both consoles when they launch. The game’s publisher also announced that those that already own a copy on the PS4 or Xbox One won’t have to pay for this next-gen edition. It will be a completely free upgrade.

And for those that have already gotten a good start in their current version, all save states will transfer over on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. You don’t have to worry about losing everything you’ve probably worked so hard for.

Experiencing Borderlands 3 on a next-gen console sounds like a great time. The original edition already has so many things going for it. The fact that the experiences from a visual and performance standpoint will be even better is exciting to contemplate.

Imagine running the game on either next-gen console and having access to 4K at 60 frames-per-second. It’s an upgrade that many Borderlands fans are looking forward to.

And if you haven’t yet played this latest installment, it really is one of the best in the series. The vault hunters were fleshed out perfectly and there is a good deal of variety to keep gameplay fresh. Whether you want to go at baddies with a lot of force or sit back and let your companions do the work, Gearbox has given you the ability to loot and shoot how you please.

The DLC content also has been quite frequent ever since the game released. It doesn’t look like this will stop any time soon, even for the next-gen edition. It looks like the skies really are the limit for the Borderlands franchise heading into 2021.
