Quantum Dream’s Detroit: Become Human finally made its way to PC through the Epic Game Store. While PC gamers were excited to try out the previously PlayStation 4-exclusive title, the game had significant issues.

Quantum Dream recently rolled out its first major update for the PC version of Detroit: Become Human.

The first patch includes a handful of fixes and improved stability.

The primary fix is to resolve a save issue for players who use Unicode characters in their Windows username and/or are not running the game with Administrator rights.

Game stability fixes were made for the “Fugitives” chapter. Players should also see a smoother experience and less overall crashes when playing the game, in general. This includes crashes that occurred while using a gamepad.

There are a handful of new error messages that clearly state what issues gamers may face. They include informing the user that they have the wrong version of Vulcan and if their CPU “does not support required SSE4.1 instructions.”

Owners of Detroit: Become Human will automatically see the patch added the next time they run the client. No additional work is needed.

With the new update, players interested in the title may be more open to purchasing the game while the Epic Game Store is currently holding holiday promotions.

Those interested in trying out the game will have to jump right in. Currently, there is only a demo for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. There was previously a PC demo on the Epic Game Store, but Quantic Dream removed it after some players used it to access the full game. Epic plans to add it back to the store eventually.

The PlayStation overview for Detroit: Become Human states: “Enter the near-future metropolis of Detroit in 2038 – a city rejuvenated by the introduction of highly advanced androids that exist only to serve mankind. But that’s all about to change… Step into the shoes of three distinct android characters as this brave new world teeters on the brink of chaos. Your decisions dramatically alter how the game’s intense, branching narrative plays out. With thousands of choices and dozens of endings, how will you affect the future of Detroit?”

Detroit: Become Human is now available for PC via the Epic Store and PlayStation 4.
