The latest trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gives everyone a friendly tutorial on the basics of Viking life, which included looting, raiding, and various other things that you’ll be doing in the game.

In the most recent trailer, which can be seen below, the game’s main character, Eivor, jovially walks people through the things they’ll be doing when they begin their journey in England during the ninth century.

In addition to launching on current-gen consoles, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will also be released on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 as a launch title for Microsoft and Sony’s next-gen consoles. Also, Ubisoft is fully embracing the 4K/60FPS standard for their next-gen titles, as they recently revealed the following details for the game on the Xbox Series X and PS5.

  • Xbox Series X: Take in the mysterious Northern Lights of Norway or the majesty of England’s Stonehenge in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X.
  • PlayStation 5: PS5 players can immerse themselves in the stunning open-world with the power of the Tempest 3D Audio Engine to hear the environment around them, along with detailed 4K and 60 frames per second visuals.

Ubisoft has some pretty ambitious plans for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and back in August, the game’s narrative director, Darby McDevitt, told Gaming Bolt how they’re trying to drastically change the traditional RPG formula with their upcoming release.

“One of the first things we asked ourselves when making Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was ‘Does the traditional Main Quest / Side Quests format work for a Viking who invades a hostile country?’ The answer was a resounding ‘no.’ Traditional Side Quests, as you find in almost every RPG around, just didn’t make sense for our character.

“By embracing this format, it left us a lot of room for smaller and more intimate narrative moments scattered throughout the world, moments we call World Events — countless small little happenings, side stories, and surreal encounters that players may engage with as they see fit. They won’t be tracked in your quest log, but they’ll tug at your curiosity.”

After the game launches, Ubisoft is going to add a ton of content for people who purchased the season pass, including several story expansions that will take players to other countries like France and Ireland.
