Steam has been giving some love to games that were over-achievers in specific categories during 2019. They have compiled multiple lists of 2019 greats, including the top-selling games, and most played games.
There is also a list of Steam’s ‘Best of 2019 – Top Controller Games’ that looks at all the PC games that are distributed on Steam that require a controller to play.

To assemble the games on this list, Steam looked at the highest peak numbers of simultaneous gamers for a controller game.
They have divided the games up in terms of genres, ‘Sports and Driving Games,’ ‘Action/Adventure Games, ’ ‘RPG/MMO Games,’ ‘Platformer Games,’ ‘Souls and Souls-Like Games,’ ‘Fighting Games,’ and ‘Beat ‘Em Up Games.’
Steam has also determined the top 12 games that are ‘Most Played With Controllers.’ The champions are:

Grand Theft Auto V has virtually been on every single 2019 list that Steam has come out with, which is truly a testament to the perfect balance Rockstar Games struck with an open-world game and the re-playability of it.
STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order has proved to be a fantastic installment for the game franchise, with it coming out late in 2019 and still making it onto this list.
Resident Evil 2 was remastered and has been one of the best PC games of the year. It even earned a Golden Joystick for ‘The Ultimate Game of the Year.’
Rocket League has a diehard fanbase that cannot get enough vehicular-soccer, and MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD has captured the imagination of gamers from around the globe.
This has been a massively successful year for the gaming industry as a whole, and specifically for PC gaming as Steam continues to be a juggernaut in the computer world.
