XREAL Games has announced Zero Caliber: Reloaded for the Oculus Quest. The game is currently in development and will launch later this year.

Zero Caliber: Reloaded is a story-based co-op FPS. The game’s main campaign is action-packed, and up to four players can join in. Zero Caliber: Reloaded takes place in the not too distant future. The United States has become a dystopian place where war has taken over, and a major water shortage is making everyone suffer.

The Talokki, a fearsome and secretive organization, has emerged in the chaos. They worship Tlaloc, the Aztec God of Rain, and are forcing survivors to join them or die. The group also holds a secret that could change humanity but won’t give up the information willingly.

Zero Caliber: Reloaded is a reworked version of Zero Caliber, which is currently available on Steam. The game will be similar to the PC launch but is being entirely rebuilt for the Oculus Quest 1 and 2. This unfortunately means that players won’t be able to cross-play between the platforms.

Players can fight alone or join up with friends. The game’s main campaign is fully playable in co-op mode, so friends can enjoy the entire story together.

One of the benefits of the game is its realistic combat system. Players will have to move their bodies to fight and find cover wherever available. Each weapon is modeled on its real-life counterparts with extreme attention to detail. Each weapon also has a unique reloading method that players will have to quickly learn and master.

XREAL Games Marketing Director Daniel Nyirfa stated:

We are very proud of what our team has accomplished from a technical standpoint to port Zero Caliber over to the Oculus Quest platform. We’re extremely excited to bring Zero Caliber’s fan-favourite features to a new audience. Our on-the-fly swappable attachment system, weapon variety and physics, melee combat and climbing mechanics packed into an action filled story will guarantee hours and hours of explosive fun. What’s even better is that the whole campaign can be played with friends!

Zero Caliber has been in Early Access since 2018. The game was originally scheduled to launch in early 2020, but the graduation date is still pending. The full version will contain the second half of the story, more weapons, attachments, and skins. There are also shorter yet challenging co-op missions planned for those who want to join in a quick game with their friends.

Zero Caliber: Reloaded is scheduled for launch in Q2 2021 for the Oculus Quest 1 and 2.
