The first-person visuals do a fantastic job at immersing you in an old town that is teeming in evil. There is also third-person, which is pretty unique because not a lot of games include both. Both options give the game a lot of variety in the visuals department.

You don’t have all the answers as you begin your journey as the protagonist Farhad Novruzov, which further enhances the tension as you explore the historically inspired streets not knowing what you’re about to discover around the corner.

After two years since first launching on PC, it’s now available on consoles including the Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. So if you don’t play games on a PC and have been looking forward to this particular title, you’re in luck.

It’s a pretty solid offering as far as survival-horror games go. The developer AzDimension certainly made it stand out with its enemy selection. You have a regular variety, but then you have bosses that are inspired by iconic creatures — including werewolves, trolls, and phantoms.

That mix constantly keeps you on your toes as you’re left trying to figure out each one of their weaknesses. These boss battles provide a lot of satisfaction with every victory and beating them gets you one step closer to unlocking the truth surrounding this mysterious old town that you once called home.

In The Last Dead End, you also have plenty of things to discover. You can rotate objects around when investigating for clues and read snippets of information from articles and books.

That gives you a lot of opportunities to piece together this evil puzzle you’ve now found yourself dealing with after coming back home many years later. An ancient religion is possibly the source of this evil and you’ll have to figure out how to put the genie back in the bottle so to speak.
