In Valheim, players have access to a wide variety of timber structures but fewer stone ones. The combination of survival and building mechanisms in Valheim’s February 2021 release has captivated millions of players. The game’s players can acquire resources and construct their houses, bases, and equipment in an endlessly rewarding loop.

Iron Gate Studio, the studio responsible for developing Valheim, has released several content upgrades for the game’s environment since the game’s Early Access release. The Hearth and Home update are one of the larger ones, adding several new facilities for crafting and construction. However, we still need more choices regarding stone construction, which should change in the future.

In Valheim, the only opportunities to build with stone are for the foundation, a few wall possibilities, and the staircase. The menu can hold up to 90 different designs, but only about 70 are currently in use. Only seven of them are stone-related construction materials. Even with this limited sample, players have built some spectacular stone constructions in Valheim. Nonetheless, there are certain areas in which the developer may improve the game.

Numerous Runestones, each with its unique bit of lore, can be found across Valheim’s various ecosystems. Upon polishing one side, these massive stones reveal red runes, providing a fantastic option for personalization. Additionally, iron Gate Studio may allow users to input messages that would appear when other people interacted with their custom Runestones instead of including lore.

While the game already features signs, this would provide players another option for customizing their worlds to reflect the game’s Viking aesthetic.

When a player dies in Valheim, a tombstone will appear at the spot where they perished. All the items the player was carrying at the moment are safely stored here. It would be nice if there were a way to make replicas of oneself out of stone for persons who want to reflect on past incarnations and inept deaths. A player can even use gravestones in their base to remember their pets.
