The game is a few days from release, but now players can test out the game before launch. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is the newest installment in the series. "Nearly a year and a half have passed since the Erebonian civil war, and much has changed since then. From the shifting stances of countries to the internal politics of the Empire, and even the life of Rean Schwarzer, the shadows of the past have given way to the embers of a new chapter." states the official Steam Store summary, "Now graduated from Thors Military Academy, Rean has become an instructor at the Thors Branch Campus, a newly-opened academy that quickly finds itself thrust onto the national stage. It is here that he takes the lead of a brand new Class VII, and must guide a new generation of heroes into an unknown future. Though all is calm now, the nefarious Ouroboros organization continues to weave a dark plot that could engulf the entire continent in war...or perhaps something even more sinister." The new game has a brand new squad with returning characters from past games. The game does feature storylines from the first two games, but there is an interactive story for newcomers to the series. Players will now get to explore the recently expanded Erebonian countryside. The gameplay has been improved from previous games and now includes features like Brave Order and Break System during battle. NIS America has also announced a special physical release of the game called The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III - Thors Academy Edition. It comes with a digital game code for Steam, Intelligence Division Files Hardcover Art Book, Symphony of Class VII soundtrack, Einhel Keep Collector's Box, SteelBook, six postcards, and a Mishy plushie. Since the game is so close to launch, those who preorder it now will have to complete payment immediately. Normally, players don't have to pay until the game is ready to ship.
