One of the more interesting things to come out on the PS4 in recent memory has been Dreams. It’s a game creation system that lets users create all sorts of marvelous projects from scratch. For instance, users can develop their own mini-games and then let the community play them to their heart’s content.
Or, you can create a masterful piece of music like a modern day composer. Dreams seems like a never-ending sandbox of creativity and imagination. It hasn’t been out for that long, but already, PS4 users are enjoying what Media Molecule was able to create.
Now, the game creation system is getting a new update that’s bringing forth a lot of improvements and new content. Let’s get into some of the main takeaways from update v2.06. Starting off is The Welcome Garden Art Pack. It’s a collection of various sculptures that you can incorporate into your personal home. You can also take these sculptures and manipulate them as you see fit, giving rise to something unique.
There are a couple of other minor tweaks, such as a green indicator to show users who’re currently online. There’s also a Most Used Creation category in the playlist, which lets you see what the community is currently buzzing about. Finally, in Community Jam, users can now specific which collection to use.
Overall, these updates are making Dreams a much more user-friendly and interactive platform to use. It’s pretty incredible that PS4 users now have something as innovative as Dreams to use when they want to let their creative juices flowing.
Even if you don’t know much about game design, Dreams has plenty to offer. You can scroll through different playlists to see what various users have created for the community to enjoy. You could come across an interesting-looking puzzle or find yourself playing an addicting platformer. There are no limits in Dreams and that’s why it has garnered so much attention in the short time it has been out.
If you do fancy yourself a creative, Dreams gives you plenty of tools and resources to play around with. After multiple sessions, you’ll start seeing the bigger picture of the system. That’s where your creativity can really shine through. Dreams has only been out since February. If Media Molecule keeps supporting the system with updates, there’s no telling what users will be able to create. Either way, it’s inspiring and just shows you what gamers are capable of.
