Summer in The Division 2 just got a little more expensive. I do mean expensive, as Ubisoft has unleashed two brand-new limited-time bundles replete with exclusive outfits and skins for very flashy skills. The Summer Tactical Bundle (1864 VC) is the ultimate class of cool, with drone VFX that makes your technology look like it was dug up from the futuristic archives of a sci-fi movie, while the Summer Beach Bundle (1624 VC) will surely make those seeker mines feel tropical. But will they be there forever, maybe? Oh no, till 8th July. Classic FOMO play!
Mixed feelings are had by the players. Some, such as Mama Mercy (@vr_mama), were pretty hyped for the tactical bundle and dubbed it a “10/10.” Anonymuz (@AN0NYMUZ1), meanwhile, straight up chuckled, “Are we playing Division or Looney Tunes?” Those that want fixes, like FREEKANDEL (@FREEKANDEL41501), said seeker mines still do not function correctly, “But hey, let’s add more guff to things that don’t work,” they quipped. Ouch.
Per @thealphaknown, these bundles are ported from the Chinese edition of the game but have been modified to be “less gooner.” (Whatever that means.) Players like Maeve (@M31tonTTV) were hoping for a 1:1 copy of the Chinese bikini top in the hopes that it would turn into a sneaky Metal Gear Solid collab tease, but instead we ended up with gloves that do not even match up to the splash art. Typical.
Let’s digress into the pricing drama now. KingSpanky82 (@KingSpanky82) told Ubisoft straight to their face: “You guys have got to bring the costs down a bit.” Bikegirl (@Bikegirl5885725) responded, “I spent my money already in CoD, not gonna make the same mistake again.” I cannot really blame her for that; these VC prices do add up real quick.
And, meanwhile, there are those players yearning for old stuff to come back. Walez (@twosidesonelife) begged for those earlier journey items to return to the store instead of continuously pushing new FOMO items. Chiefly, they want the Carmine Mask. Ubisoft, y’all better take note.
And RHAMPAGE24 (@2Rhampage4) came out with a nuclear one-liner: “Fcked up that we have to pay for VFX that were advertised as FREE.” Straight fire! That one hits. Meanwhile, De’Mond (@washingd72) just chilled with his feeling of the summer drop but was feeling last week’s TACSYS set: “Just wish the pieces were separate,” he sighed.
At some point, hyped players like @Ghost_Wolf_00 said, “Okay I want that Summer Tac Bundle. I need that.” Meanwhile, @ZoMbRex19 declared, “I would rather buy this” with a link to… something entirely different. Priorities, man.
On the other hand, wildcard requests were made by @zzZORROzz for caps with adjustable visors: “front or back, as we like,” and @NoFilterGames jokingly want to know if True Patriot armor is getting the summer treatment. “Asking for a friend.” Sure, pal.
So the bottom line is: The bundles are shimmering and VFX are cool, while the community has opinions. Some want fixes, some want old gear, and some want Ubisoft to shut the hell up about paid cosmetics while bugs lay around. Will they heed? Who knows. But if you snag these before they vanish on July 8th—bugs and all—the summer vibes are yours.
