Ever since Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was first shown, gamers were in pandemonium. It’s not very often that a game’s graphics take our breath away. Well, it happened time and time again with this game’s reveal.

The game has only been out for a day, and already, it’s one of the most popular games on the Steam platform. According to statistics, more than 120,000 people are playing it on Steam at a time.

This is quite impressive. It’s the fourth-most played title on the Steam platform, just ahead of Rainbow Six Siege. So why has this game received such positive reviews and created a wave of fandom in such a short period of time?

There are many strong points worth pointing out. Front and center are the combat mechanics. They’ve been beautiful mastered by the developers. It just feels so nice to slash through various enemies and monsters.

The combat seems well-balanced and extremely focused. The level of difficulty is demanding, but not to the point of absolute frustration. It has a Bloodborne feel, but not as difficult. There are points when you’re forgiven for lapses in combat IQ.

It has a pushing pace to it, where after heated battles, you’ll find nooks to rest and track your progression. They don’t happen often, but when they do, they’re more than appreciated. Finding secret passageways is also rewarding when it happens.

Thankfully, the progression in this game is pretty linear. It’s forgiving and doesn’t cause you to get confused at any point to where you have to back-track, like a lot of games like this on the market have you do.

Despite its linear play, you won’t always be rooted to the ground like a knight. Instead, you’ll find yourself using a grappling hook time and time again to go vertical. It’s a mechanic that makes you feel like a true ninja. This ability certainly comes in handy when enemies seemingly have you cornered. When in doubt, grapple-hook it out.

The environment variety is amazing in this game as well. There are misty forests and frozen cliffs that you’ll embark upon. Every time you come across a new atmosphere, you become more immersed in this world. Everything makes sense and you’ll have an amazing time throughout this ride.

It’s not surprising to see why it has sold so well since its initial release. It really gets everything perfectly, from the graphics to the combat.
