Another teaser from ASUS ROG for the most mysterious Xbox collaboration ROG Xbox Ally X has sent the gaming community berserk. This Tweet saying “It’s already a week ago… 💭 ROG Xbox Ally X🥰” tagged @Xbox, so it gave away nothing. The replys were, however, absolute mayhem. Gamers want to know everything: If? Price? Can it even replace a next-gen box?

We would talk first about what we think of as pre-existing knowledge. ROG Xbox Ally X is supposedly a handheld gaming device probably hybridizing some ASUS ROG gaming hardware with the Xbox ecosystem. The leaks want October release; both ASUS and Xbox are mum on the subject. And have we said yet, wild speculations continue. One of the players, @Lukie1986, has even said that they sold their original Ally in anticipation of the X: “Can’t wait for October! (If the rumours are true).”

Others look to be on the fence. @IdlePk said pass, lamenting, “I wished for 8 inch…7 isn’t an option.” Others are drafting their setup plans already! @ArmyVet11BE6 wonders: can it be paired with mobile GPU dock for a next-gen console replacement? That’s…quite the audacity. But hey, if it is powerful enough, who knows?

Here we go with the pricing antics again. @HylianH3ro begs, “Need to hear a price I hope it’s at least a bit lower than the supposed leaked prices.” To be honest, nobody’s confirmed any of those numbers, but if those leaks are even close, wallets might be in some serious hazard. @_ITSMILNER just wants some news now: “Hoping it’s not too long until we get price and release date news!”

Then there were those…goofy types. @MJFLIX and @estationq8 both demanded free units (one was for “scientific purposes,” the other gave no explanation). @Mr_Chamoy1 meanwhile, shouted into this void: “OPEN THE PRE ORDERS PLZ.” Same here, brother. Same.

One of the most interesting questions came from @CarlosA40856210 asking if the device could be demoed with the XG Mobile dock. Solid stuff–if it does support external GPUs, it behooves one to be alpine-level for portable gaming.

So, what gives? Is the ROG Xbox Ally X just another mediocre handheld resting on a crowded market, or the next big thing? For now, all we got are teases and gamers going bananas. But with the October rumor being stoked, it might mean we don’t have to wait so long for answers. Until then, keep refreshing those store pages-maybe those pre-orders decide to show up yet.

Hey, ASUS…maybe throw us a bone? Like a price? Maybe even a release window? Anything?
