There is some dangerously hot news for the Resident Evil Requiem fans: Resident Evil Requiem allows you to enter this nightmare either in a first-person or third-person perspective. Carried straight from hand-drawn impressions on Summer Game Fest, this option is driving gamers wild.
If you want to have that adrenaline rush of chases by mutant abominations or if you want to chill with the good old third-person waves of over-the-shoulder survival, Capcom is letting you choose whatever you want. Are we looking at one of the very best or worst decisions, depending on whom you ask?
Well, there’s already hype! @fpsprinciple says it’s a “Day 1” buy, and @Chelseazaz92 is with the “Day 1 physical” copy. @DarthRelic is crying “celebrations at not being forced to play it in first person,” with @PedroAu05 echoing, “Thank you, capcom β€οΈπ, for keeping first-person an option,” as if they actually handed him a survival toolkit.
But a few people are not happy about it. @iyads9 called first-person in RE a “dumb decision,” which… okay, that’s harsh. Then @Soulbound_TV said: “First-person to scream, third-person to run π.” Honestly? That may be the most apt description of Resident Evil ever.
Then goes the debate once over again: Some, like @ColbFusion, are just happy that both options exist and say, “Every game should offer third and first-person swap.” Meanwhile, the opponents in the replies are already fighting over which is better. @HERIKZOONH even posted a meme, mocking first-person haters, of course.
That leads us to the question: What IS Resident Evil Requiem really? While some, including @grantcreach, are certain that it is Resident Evil 9 itself, others are all hyped up about whatever fresh hell Capcom is cooking up. In his own words, @CamoteQ8614 pretty much sums it up: “Sounds like a real brain-twister. Can’t wait to see how they mess with our poor protagonists’ minds.”
Now, pricing complaints! A reveal of any game never fails to get at least one person questioning regional prices. @zipiol went full outrage over Polish prices, while @darksouldream demanded fair pricing for Latin America. Classic!
So yeah, whichever side you are on, first-person or third, or simply there to watch the antics, Resident Evil Requiem is going to be one wild ride. No release date yet, but waiting for it is going to be a long one with this much drama already.
