PlayStation gave a sneak peek of the June PS+-game-catalog, and let’s merely say… a few interesting reactions came from this. One can spot FBC: Firebreak, Battlefield 2042, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2, and theHunter: Call of the Wild, just to name a few. Instead of riding the hype train, this announcement became the breeding ground for polarizing opinions.
FBC: Firebreak also sees a much-acclaimed day-one release on the service. It was hardcore excitement for some like @Awesomepanda937 who exclaimed, “Oh shit FBC comes out this month? Iโve been hyped for this.” Some were split, though; @tiago_mullerr cheekily remarked in Portuguese, “If FBC Firebreak wasnโt multiplayer, Iโd have my eye on buying it lol.”
Then there’s Battlefield 2042. A few players laughed it off, such as @greatnessalway1: “Lol is Battlefield always there ๐คฃ๐๐,” whereas the others issued serious inquiries like @bhand94: “How active are the Battlefield 2042 servers?” Fair enough, given the past.
Another half: Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 and theHunter: Call of the Wild, neither of which really impressed the gamers. As @helvnt put it, “Add RE2 + RE3, these games are boring,” to be quickly followed by @Kixsomebutts’ words: “Another L month, thatโs it, not renewing my subscription.” Ouch.
Not all were so filled with negativity, though. @thelast1gaming stood in the celebratory corner: “Best month in a long time!! Happy to see a day 1 release!” And @SamHocking12 defended the lineup: “Why is everyone saying this is a trash month?? These games are so good.”
Real and ongoing drama? One is the eternal PlayStation Plus-versus-Xbox Game Pass debate. Running the diss: “@AnaAnsan3 Trash in comparison to the superior #XboxGamePass ๐๐,” while @d12dan12 proudly gave kick-to-the-ball reports: “Because itโs PlayStation. I ditched them a long time ago and strictly game on my Xbox and ROG Ally.” @Awesomepanda937 jumped straight to the lineup’s defense, saying FBC being a day-one release “is a great step towards competition with Game Pass!”
Some players, like @critic_don, took a jab at Sony’s strategy: “Sony is drip-feeding Premium this year. Last year was much better.” This announcement became the last straw for @Rtfapprix: “Thank you for helping me decide to not renew my subscription.”
Then the requests rolled in. “Please add Hitman: World of Assassination or Final Fantasy 16 next month ๐๐๐,” begged @IronHogan, while @phillips_cj sarcastically thanked PlayStation for “more shovelware.”
So what is the verdict? Well, that entirely depends on who you ask! Some are thrilled with the new games, some are packing up to cancel their subscription already, and some are there for the drama. One thing is for sure, be it an intended effect or not, PlayStation certainly knows how to create a stir.
One way or the other, if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription, you have a fresh new batch of games to sink your teeth into come next month, loathe them or love them. Let the ensuing online wars begin, because gamers will never agree on something anyway, and that’s half the fun.
