Maybe the DC bad guy that Fortnite players had to be their next locker-guy–Lex Luthor. According to the latest gossip, the bald-headed genius might actually be making his way into the game-and not just in his regular suit. Instead, this time, Lex Luthor will probably be bringing his power suit.
The rumor sprung when two of the most reliable leakers in Fortnite, @ShiinaBR and @FNBRintel, hinted toward it. And that is how these things go about: when those huge leakers in the community begin the chatter, everyone has to pay attention. The huge buzz around the tweet had players either basking in anticipation or just outright confused over why Lex Luthor of all characters was being touted as next.
The reactions were, to say the least, kind of funny. One player proposed the idea of Lex’s bald head having an in-game power to glare down adversaries (Ouch!). Another wanted Nightwing instead, and somebody else responded, “Nobody wants this trash bald ass head.” Harsh, but hey, not everyone’s a Lex fan.
Then again, it really does seem fairly suitable to have Lex Luthor in Fortnite. Superman is in the game already, and what is Superman without his arch-nemesis? Furthermore, through that power suit, Epic could give him some sick abilities, maybe even something involving Kryptonite. Can you even imagine dropping into a match and spotting Lex inside his armor, shooting lasers at players? That would actually be crazy.
Of course, others aren’t really the ones buying it. There are still others waiting for Batgirl, Green Lantern, or Zatanna. And honestly? Fair. The DC roster inside Fortnite is already heavy but a few more couldn’t hurt.
Alright, then comes the real question: If indeed Lex is messing around in the game, would he get multiple styles? One player threw out the idea of his classic business suit alternate look, which would be a nice touch. And knowing Epic, they will go all out on the cosmetics and probably create an emote where he monologues about world domination.
Regarding when would this happen, no official date has been confirmed, but knowing how these past collabs have gone, they’d just drop this kind of stuff out of nowhere. So keep an eye out, folks- It might be sooner than you think that Lex is on the island.
For those who are currently aghast at this rumor though, don’t sweat it. Fortnite has been in constant development. Perhaps your personal character would be next. Or just how about… maybe even the Green Lantern skin we have all been asking for?
And so the rumor mill keeps churning in the Fortnite corner, and, honestly, half the fun is being a part of it.
