With the new Warsaw office, CD Projekt Red somehow managed to provide serious eye candy, and the gaming community has gone crazy for better or worse. The studio behind The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 conducted an opening ceremony last Friday, giving an exclusive peek into their veranda-like office and some partying time as well. While some fans are thrilled at the idea of working in such an ultramodern office, others… well, they just can’t look away from this rainbow logo on CDPR’s profile picture. Oh, boy.

That tweet is an opener! No wonder, with a meteoric rise from indie darling to AAA studio: “As the new home of The Witcher, it simply had to be amazing!” is the caption, linking to pictures of the event. If anyone needed to know, the place can only be described as a dream office for any gamer: an open layout, mood lighting, and one can only imagine there’s a secret Gwent card room somewhere. And the replies? Oh, dear.

There now, the fairly typical dilution of hype and demand going on. “Cyberpunk 2.3 news, please,” says one player, with another begging, “Hire me please.” Classic. Another guy wants New Game Plus for Cyberpunk, he’s all caps, and it’s like he’s about to storm the new CDPR HQ himself. But really, the drama? The rainbow flag in CDPR’s Twitter bio.

Not everybody is… pleased. “Cringy rainbow detected in this account bio; opinion rejected,” says one. Another called it “DEI garbage,” and yet another bluntly wanted to know, “Is it a bunch of flaming homos there too?” Charming. Meanwhile, the other side is defending the studio, with another saying, “That word lost all its meaning if it ever had one.”

They’re not all fighting, though; some Polish gamers are realistic about the aside and discussing where the building is (“Jagiellonska still? Let me know, I’ll be there next week”), and at least one guy from Poland is just really excited about the cafeteria options. Priorities, people.

So, hence the takeaway: The new CD Projekt Red campus stands for the megalomaniacal increase of stature and enterprise. By 2024, culture wars await even a studio’s office opening. Whether you are here for the architecture or the Twitter flame wars, one thing is certain: CDPR can keep people talking. Now, what about Witcher 4?
