The side-scroller was initially announced for mobile in November 2019 after it was released on PC and consoles. The developer and publisher released the first game, Door Kickers, in October 2014 whee it received positive reviews on Steam. While the original title was a top-down action strategy game, the sequel contains pixel graphics and a side view of the world. "Door Kickers: Action Squad is a crazy old school side scroller action game that puts you in the role of a SWAT trooper and sends you to deal with the bad guys in Nowhere City USA." states the official website. Players will choose from a variety of squad members to get the job done. They include the Assaulter, Breacher, Shield, and Recon. While these are the most serious players, there are some interesting individuals like Agent Fergie, who is a fearless handgun user and Off-Duty Guy, who is a bit grumpy after being called in early from his hunting trip. The game contains some strategic elements. Instead of rushing in, players will have to place their characters carefully to fight against the plethora of enemies. Gamers also have to choose their gear carefully. Fortunately, there are 60 different weapons and armor to choose from, depending on what the situation calls for. The game is fairly long, with around 84 different levels with varying difficulties. If that wasn't enough, there's also a zombie invasion mode to play the game in a whole new way. After being released on PC and consoles, the mobile version is almost ready. Players can register now on the Play Store to receive a notification when the game launches. A demo is available now on the Play Store that contains three levels. Unlike other pre-registration campaigns, there are no additional bonuses for signing up early. There is no cost to getting notified when the game will be released. App Store users will have to wait a little longer. An App Store version is planned, but pre-registration is not yet available.
