The 7.24 patch has been released a couple of days ago.

The most significant change is the removal of shrines, which appeared in patch 7.00.

General

1) Heroes now have a dedicated neutral items slot. A maximum of one neutral item can be equipped on your hero.

2) There is now a Neutral Item Stash in the fountain. Neutral items are now stored there instead of on the fountain floor. Right-clicking on an available item in the new UI will place it in your stash/courier and can be delivered to you. This UI will also show the state and location of all the other items that have dropped.

3) Neutral items can now be teleported to your Neutral Item Stash at home through a right-click context menu (from your backpack or your neutral slot). Neutral item drop count per tier increased from 3 to 4 (chance from 9 to 10%)

4) Backpack slot count reduced from 4 to 3

5) Removed Shrines

6) Outposts moved to the primary jungles. Outposts vision reduced from 1400 flying to 700 ground vision (same for true sight). Outposts now start as owned by the respective teams, and can be captured at any time (rewards still happen at the 10-minute mark)

7) Lane bounty runes have been moved to the secondary jungles

8) Removed all GPM talents

9) Hero respawn time increased from 6/8/10/14/16 for level 1-5 to 12/15/18/21/24

10) Buyback cost increased from 100 + NW/13 to 200 + NW/12

11) Courier death no longer disables your passive gold income

There has been a huge amount of changes to both items, and heroes as well alongside the general changes. The biggest impacting change is the removal of shrines and removal of GPM talents, which will decrease snowball significantly. With the shrines no longer there, Dire has Roshan Advantage for Teleport on Outpost.

Pro players welcome the changes, especially the shrine removal since it made the game too fast and resource management a non-issue. The removal of items on couriers is also a welcome change since it was a noob trap. No one wasted their items on their courier.

Melee heroes now will have an easier time clearing wards with the extra range.  The extra respawn time on early levels will deny suicide to tower tactics. If you suicide to tower now you will lose way too much time and experience.

Overall the direction of the patch is good, Dota is going back to its core what made it a great game instead of trying to force random stuff over the last few patches.
