Publisher Sekai Project and developer NEKOWORKS have announced the official release date for Nekopara Vol. 4, along with the Steam store page. Nekopara Vol. 4 is the fourth installment of the popular catgirl-themed series and is a follow-up to the previous game.
Nekopara Vol. 4 follows the series protagonist Kashou Minaduki’s and his patisserie “La Soleil.” Minaduki’s line of work greatly differs from the family’s traditional Japanese confectionery business, which puts father and son at odds. After seeing how upset her older brother is by the argument, Shigure suggests going to a hot springs resort to get his mind off his troubles.
Minaduki’s friends Azuki and Coconut suggest father and son resolve their differences, while Maple and Cinnamon suggest holding off. They want Minaduki to travel to France to seek advice from his father’s teacher, who taught him about making confectionaries in the first place.
Volume 4 of the story brings Minasuki, Shigure, and his friends to France. In the country, they meet a mysterious new cat girl. The trip to France with his cat-panions brings them all together for this fourth installment.
As with previous games, Nekopara Vol. 4 is a visual novel without any additional gameplay. The game is heavily story-based. Players follow through the story and then make important decisions at certain times. The decisions will branch into different story paths, including romance options. Depending on the options Minaduki chose, players will receive one of many endings.
The game contains more beautiful illustrations from the series creator Sayori, plus an opening song called “SWEETXSWEET” sung by KOTOKO. The game includes animated character sprites to bring the characters to life. After unlocking images, players can view them again in the CG Gallery Mode.
Players can choose from full Japanese voice acting for the characters, except for the protagonists. The text options also include English, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese.
Nekopara Vol. 4 comes a little more than three years after the launch of the third game, which was released in May 2017. The visual novel has become so popular that many adaptations came from the series, such as a manga series, mobile game, merchandise, crowdfunded OVA, and an OVA 12-episode anime adaptation.
Players can wishlist the game now on Steam. The developer is also on Twitter and is revealing additional information before the full launch of the game.
Nekopara Vol. 4 launches on PC on November 26.
