Ghost of Tsushima, the wildly successful PlayStation 4 exclusive set in the world of Feudal Japan, is getting a multiplayer mode called Legends. While news of this mode made waves last week, some more information has come out that is sure to please gamers all over the world.

Legends will not feature any microtransactions.

Just the word microtransaction is enough to make a seasoned gamer dry heave. Allowing gamers to pay extra in order to progress or unlock features more easily is one of the most enraging trends to surround modern gaming in recent memory.

Sucker Punch, the studio responsible for this smash hit PlayStation title, has announced that there are no plans for this to occur.

“There are no microtransactions in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and we have absolutely no plans to add them,” Sucker Punch said in a statement. “All of the content is unlocked through play.”

This is sure to be a popular announcement, as companies like EA and Ubisoft have come under extreme fire in recent years for what gamers described as predatory attempts at monetization.

For example, EA’s Star Wars Battlefront 2 worked on a Lootbox system, where players could pay to advance and unlock better weapons and classes.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the most recent game in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise, has a huge level jump between missions. Ubisoft then sold an upgrade for real money that allowed the player to level up faster and avoid the need to grind out levels by shelling out real money.

Sucker Punch has not announced an official release date for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends as of now. We know that it will be a free DLC upgrade and that it is coming sometime this fall.

When playing legends, you’ll be able to either partner with your friends or with random people through an online matchmaking system. You’ll then play in groups of two to four, taking on one of four classes.

These are Samurai, Hunters, Ronin, or Assassins. There are unique abilities and advantages that go along with each class. Those will be revealed in the future.

“With two players in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, you’ll be able to play a series of co-op story mission that escalate in difficulty, building on the foundation of combat from the single player campaign but with new magical twists that often require careful synchronization with your partner,” Sucker Punch said in its initial announcement. “With four players, you’ll be able to take on wave-based Survival missions, fighting groups of the toughest enemies Tsushima has to offer including new Oni enemies with supernatural abilities.”
