Dying Light continues to release new online content. Throughout the months, the game has features various new events, all to keep gamers interested in the zombie-infested world they’ve crafted. Dying Light 2 is just around the corner, but that doesn’t mean the first game has left behind since development on the sequel began.
On the official Dying Light Twitter and Facebook accounts, the game teased an exciting new collaboration with Left 4 Dead 2. With a simple message and powerful visual, gamers began to speculate what this meant for the future of Left 4 Dead 2.
For some users, Left 4 Dead 2 may be a distant memory. The game was initially released ten years ago on November 17, 2009. Though the game was released years ago, it still has an enthusiastic player base who either enjoy it in its original form or create new mods to play in new ways.
The main story of Dying Light has games in control of Kyle Crane, a special agent who wears his heart on his sleeve. His search for one person turns into a mission to save a city.
When the short plotline ends, there is plenty of online content to enjoy with up to three other friends.
The online gameplay is similar to Left 4 Dead 2, which allows a team of four to play together. The game has not had new content for years, but fans keep finding new ways to play the game in hopes of a sequel. Like many Valve games, news for a third game from any one of their popular series is doubtful.
Though both games have their differences, they both thrive on the simple need to stay alive in a zombie apocalypse.
The teaser has little information about the details of the collaboration. Based on past free and paid DLC content from the Dying Light developers, it may only be cosmetic updates. It is also unknown if this will be free or paid DLC content and when it will roll out.
No matter what the collaboration may be, Techland has been praised for continuing to update Dying Light with new content, no matter how small, after the game’s 2015 release.
The collaboration may be to celebrate Left 4 Dead 2’s tenth anniversary or to get gamers ready for Dying Light 2, to be released sometime in 2020.
