They’ve done a good job hyping this next installment with their trailer breakdowns, featuring iconic voice actors Troy Barker and Nolan North. Their inclusion just lets fans now what lengths the developer is trying to go to make this a definitive next-gen off-roading experience.
November 6th is the official release date and to get you in the mood, there’s a new trailer showing some of the next-gen details. Some highlights worth mentioning for the PS5 in particular include faster load times, adaptive triggers, and enhanced audio. All of these elements in combination with each other should further immerse players as they brave the elements in epic fashion.
The 120hz option is talked about in great detail for the PS5. Codemasters wanted to bring something significant to the table from a performance and visual standpoint and based on the trailer up above, they’ve achieved what they set out to do. Dirt 5 should deliver the definitive experience that fans of this racing series have waited a long time for.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg as far as what Dirt 5 players have in store. The in-depth career mode looks like a huge selling point, where players will go from the bottom ranks to elite driver known worldwide throughout their progression. Every race and every opponent bested is one step closer to ralley car racing hall-of-fame.
Career mode is complimented by the professional work of Nolan North and Troy Barker, while the authentic race tracks and cars give players plenty of content to sink their teeth into early on.
There is also an online mode for those hoping to throw down with others in different areas all over the world. There are multiple modes available, but there is offline co-op for those that just want to enjoy some fun racing action with friends in person.
The Dirt series has come a long way. Now, the graphics have never looked more real and the controls are highly responsive. Driving on ice, dirt, and grass all provide a different experience that is exactly what you want in a rally racer of this caliber.
Only one more sleep before fans of the franchise can see how Codemasters elevated the series and got it ready for next-gen consoles from Microsoft and Sony that so many gamers are excited for. It’s a great time to be a racing fan.
