Publisher Gaijin Entertainment and developer Three Whales Studio have announced their upcoming MMOAge of Water. Along with the game was an announcement to sign-up for Alpha test the game, currently in progress.

Age of Water takes place in a post-apocalyptic water world. The ocean has engulfed a once-thriving civilization, and only a few survived the tragic event. Those who remain have to work alone or with one of the other survivors to resettle in the new world.

As a game based on survival, this is a vital part of the experience. Players will have to explore the waters around them to discover aquatic cities and anything else that may aid them on their journey. By exploring, players will gather food and unique resources, find weapons and ancient relics, plus trade with other survivors.

The game contains the mighty technologies of the old world, such as ships and firearms, plus the new primitive lifestyle that the world has resorted to. The world is no longer safe, and only the strongest will survive. Players can design and build warships to fight for territory and grab rare resources.

Residents of Age of Water live in cities built on top of whatever structures remain stable after the terrible event. They include skyscraper rooftops and giant statues. Players will have a motorboat to travel around to meet nearby friends or to explore the immediate area.

The game also teases a “mythical land” that may exist. It’s up to players to create powerful warships that can survive pirate or other player attacks and seek out this potential haven.

Alpha Sign-ups are available on the official website now. Players will have to describe the way they play, from solo to a squad, and then answer how many others may also join.

From there, the form asks if the player has had experience beta testing any other games. This is not required to join, but the developer may want to pick from a selection of experienced and novice testers. Beta testing is an important part of development, so dedicated players who report back feedback are vital.

The beta is only available for PCs at this time. The developer will also ask the interested beta tester’s system information, along with a few other questions. An account will be required to log in and play.

Age of Water was developed as part of a Gaijin inCubator title. The title will be available on PC through the Gaijin.net platform.

The announced Alpha test is the first. If players are unable to test it out this time, there may be additional opportunities in the future.
