Amazon Prime Day has come and gone. It was a good event for gamers looking to snag some deals on some great titles. Several other companies ran promotions alongside this fictitious holiday, including Walmart and GameStop.

The deals don’t appear to be over for PlayStation users fortunately, as the company just announced their mid-week flash sale. It’s slashing the prices on a lot of top games, including the highly reputable A Plague Tale: Innocence. Over the weekend, the game will only be $35. That’s much better than its current price of $50.

Ever since its release back in May, it has garnered a lot of positive feedback. It’s a steal-based game developed by Asobo Studio. Players get to take on the role of Amicia, a young girl of noble descent. The English army has just invaded her home village, Aquitaine. Eventually, the Inquisition find her and her family. She’s forced to flee with her brother Hugo.

Probably the most intriguing aspect of this game is the rat horde that’s taking over colonies and spreading the plague to anything it comes in contact with. These aren’t ordinary rats, though. They move in packs and kill whatever comes across their path.

Amicia and Hugo thus must stay in the light to avoid their voracious appetite. Never before have these vermin been portrayed in such horrific fashion. The horde will certainly stick with you all throughout this game’s runtime.

To make matters worse, you have to evade the Inquisition and fanatical villagers on witch hunts. The multi-faceted threats keep you on your toes from start to finish.

A huge aspect of this game is using stealth to remain hidden. It certainly comes into play when sneaking around soldiers. There is so much tension with every move you make. One false step or noise will result in Amicia and Hugo’s demise.

That being said, the developers didn’t leave Amicia without any weapons to defend herself. She is equipped with a sling. It can be used in a variety of ways. For example, she can lob rocks at guards. A well-timed head shot will kill them. Stunning them will also give you enough time to escape, while the rat horde consumes the rest.

A lot of your time will be spent solving puzzles, particularly in regards to moving around the rat horde. You’ll have to use clues and go through trial and error sequences to be successful.

For just $35, you would be hard-pressed to find a more captivating and unique game.
