Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, released last year, is the most recent video game adaptation of the Dungeons & Dragons series. The dramatic action role-playing game, developed by Tuque Games and published by Wizards of the Coast, takes players to the frigid region of Icewind Gale, where they must fight swarms of terrible monsters.

The fantasy brawler doesn’t let players design their characters but picks from four established legends: Drizzt Do’Urden, Catti-brie, Bruenor Battlehammer, and Wulfgar. Unfortunately, despite the title’s magnificent depiction of Icewind Gale and its inhabitants, many fans of the role-playing genre found DnD: Dark Alliance lacking because of its lack of character customization and tedious gameplay.

According to Eurogamer, a new Dungeons & Dragons video game is being developed with Unreal Engine 5. Tuque Games, creators of D&D: Dark Alliance, have renamed Invoke Studios and are now working on the project. Additionally, wizards of the Coast has stated that their next game will be a AAA title developed in Unreal Engine 5. Dominic Guay, a seasoned Ubisoft developer who has worked on games like Watch Dogs, Far Cry, and Splinter Cell, is also at the helm of the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons game.
